Enviroment Social Governance
We follow a Themed investing approach which “allows investors to address ESG issues by investing in specific solutions to them, such as renewable energy, waste and water management, sustainable forestry and agriculture, health products and inclusive finance”.
According to our ESG Business and Conduct Code, WCA follows the Principles for Responsible Investments for its financing activities based on the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact.
We will incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.
We will be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
We will seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.
We will promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.
We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.
We will each report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.
In addition to the UN Global Compact Principles, WCA implements a series of ESG standards related to investments in controversial sectors and products.
Note: Definition from “PRI – Principles for Responsible Investments”. PRI is is an investor initiative in partnership with UNEP Finance Initiative and United Nations Global Compact.
