Alternative finance provider Working Capital Associates continues its expansion and boosts its senior team with key executive management hires.
London, 12/11/2018 - Working Capital Associates (“WCA”) announces today the appointments of Soheill Sarkoob as WCA’s Chief Operating Officer and Matteo Lombardo, CFA as WCA’s Chief Credit Officer.
“Soheill and Matteo bring to WCA an incredible wealth of technical experience, skills, deal making and client management. They will join the core management team to continue WCA’s growth”, comments Federica Sambiase, WCA’s Partner and CEO.
Soheill Sarkoob is a veteran Trade Finance specialist with 20+ years experience in a wide variety of trade finance solutions across export, import and stock finance.
Soheill was a co-founder in 2008 of Sterling Trade Finance Group - a specialist provider of working capital to the UK’s SME market, in the form of trade finance and debtor finance. Soheill ran Sterling as a Managing Director until 2016, being involved in all aspects of the worldwide supply chain financing to UK manufacturers, exporters, importers, wholesalers and distributors across 5 core product lines. Soheill then went on to successfully engineer the sale of Sterling in 2016 to Scottish Pacific Group - a listed company and the largest specialist provider of working capital solutions for SMEs in Australia and New Zealand – where he continued working until July 2018. Prior to Sterling, Soheill was with Alliance Trade Finance and Versailles Trade Finance. Soheill holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Queen Mary College, London.

Matteo Lombardo, CFA, is an experienced financial analyst, with 20+ years’ experience in fixed income and equity, portfolio management and research with prestigious FIs. Matteo is also a private investor and the founder of K Capital Group, an advisory and financial research company. Matteo started his career as a financial analyst for Lazard's Private Wealth Management Division in London and then joined Citigroup Asset Management as an investment specialist. Subsequently, Matteo moved to Lehman Brothers in London in the Index and Portfolio Strategies Team and to Orient Global (a private investment fund) in Dubai after that. Matteo graduated with a BSc in Economics from Bocconi University, received an MSc in Finance from the London Business School and has been a CFA Charterholder since 2003. He is currently a Board Member of CFA Society Italy and the Chair of the Advocacy Committee.
